GGRASIA “Macau regulator nods Dynam-Weike slot: firm”
4/07/2019

A casino slot game product containing “pachinko elements” has been approved by the Macau casino regulator, says Hong Kong-listed Dynam Japan Holdings Co Ltd. The new product uses software from Dynam Japan, with hardware from Singapore-based casino equipment supplier Weike Gaming Technology (S) Pte Ltd.

The machine will be showcased at Weike’s booth at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2019, in order to promote “the future installation” of the product in the Macau market, said a Thursday filing from Dynam Japan to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The casino trade show and conference is taking place from May 21 to 23 at the Venetian Macao casino resort on Cotai.

In late March, Dynam Japan said that gaming equipment testing service BMM International LLC had deemed the new product compliant with Macau’s electronic gaming machine technical standards. The standards – now in version 1.1 – are issued by the local casino regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, a body also known as DICJ.

The company said previously that upon obtaining DICJ’s approval, the machine would be “manufactured and sold to casino facilities in Macau”.

According to a previous filing, the Japanese company was responsible for planning and developing the gaming software “incorporating game elements of pachinko supported by Japanese users for many years”.

Under the “joint development agreement”, Weike would be responsible for developing the hardware, implementing the gaming software, manufacturing the approved machines and selling them to casinos in Macau.
