GGRASIA “Dynam, Weike machine targets mass market: exec”

A casino slot game product containing “pachinko elements” is targeted at the mass-market segment in Asia, says an executive with one of the companies responsible for the development of the new game. The new product uses software from Hong Kong-listed Dynam Japan Holdings Co Ltd, with hardware from Singapore-based casino equipment supplier Weike Gaming Technology (S) Pte Ltd.

The new product – branded DynamicW – is to be first released in the Macau market, with other jurisdictions following soon after, said Daven Tay (pictured, left), Weike’s executive director, in comments to GGRAsia on the first day of Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2019 at the Venetian Macao.

“Our first target market is Macau, and our first game has already been approved” by the Macau gaming regulator, said Mr Tay. The new game – called “Fortune Frogs” – is part of a pachinko bonus series that is being developed under an agreement between Dynam Japan and Weike.

A second game of the series – dubbed “Mid-Autumn Festival” – has already been submitted to Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, a body also known as DICJ, for approval, said Mr Tay. The game has been deemed compliant with Macau’s electronic gaming machine technical standards by gaming equipment testing service BMM International LLC, a group known as BMM Testlabs, he added.

“We are now talking with all the big operators in Macau. But we plan to launch the product with a bundle of games, and we are now developing a third new game, which will complete this [pachinko bonus] series,” stated the Weike executive.

“The priority will be to launch it [the product] later this year with a bundle of games. Somewhere in October or early November,” said Mr Tay, adding that the partners are planning to launch the product in other “well regulated markets, such as the Philippines and Singapore”.

The Fortune Frogs game is featured in Weike’s Emperor cabinet. The game includes a pachinko bonus feature that is triggered when at least three special symbols appear on reels one to five. The game also displays the average expenditure per hour – excluding bonus feature wins – in order to disclose more information to its users, a practice common on pachinko machines, noted Mr Tay.

Dynam Japan – represented at G2E Asia by one of its executive directors, Kimiharu Sato (pictured, right) – runs a number of pachinko parlours in Japan, a vertical pinball game very popular among Japanese.

Fortune Frogs “is a very different concept and theme, even in the graphics it displays,” explained Mr Tay. “We are targeting the mass market, just like the pachinko game itself is marketed in Japan.”

The executive said the cooperation with Dynam Japan was also a move eyeing Japan’s nascent casino industry. Japan’s national government is due this summer to announce national public policy criteria for evaluating bids for development of casino resorts in the country. Only a maximum of three casino resort licences will be permitted in the first phase of casino liberalisation in that country.

According to Mr Tay, Dynam Japan is very familiar with electronic gaming, namely via pachinko. Study of that Japanese domestic market has helped the partners bringing to market these new casino products to understand the kinds of themes, symbols, music and game math that are appealing to Japanese players. “It makes sense for us to cooperate, not only to explore fresh opportunities in existing regulated markets, but also looking at the future Japanese market,” stated the executive.

GGRASIA “Macau regulator nods Dynam-Weike slot: firm”

A casino slot game product containing “pachinko elements” has been approved by the Macau casino regulator, says Hong Kong-listed Dynam Japan Holdings Co Ltd. The new product uses software from Dynam Japan, with hardware from Singapore-based casino equipment supplier Weike Gaming Technology (S) Pte Ltd.

The machine will be showcased at Weike’s booth at the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2019, in order to promote “the future installation” of the product in the Macau market, said a Thursday filing from Dynam Japan to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The casino trade show and conference is taking place from May 21 to 23 at the Venetian Macao casino resort on Cotai.

In late March, Dynam Japan said that gaming equipment testing service BMM International LLC had deemed the new product compliant with Macau’s electronic gaming machine technical standards. The standards – now in version 1.1 – are issued by the local casino regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, a body also known as DICJ.

The company said previously that upon obtaining DICJ’s approval, the machine would be “manufactured and sold to casino facilities in Macau”.

According to a previous filing, the Japanese company was responsible for planning and developing the gaming software “incorporating game elements of pachinko supported by Japanese users for many years”.

Under the “joint development agreement”, Weike would be responsible for developing the hardware, implementing the gaming software, manufacturing the approved machines and selling them to casinos in Macau.

AGB Nippon “Dynam Japan and Weike Gaming Team Up to Develop Video Slot Machine”

Dynam Japan Holdings, the nation’s largest pachinko hall operator by number of halls, and Weike Gaming Technology, a Singapore-based gaming machine company, have revealed that they are teaming up to develop a new video slot machine.

According to the joint development agreement signed last September, Dynam was responsible for planning and developing the gaming software, which incorporates game elements from pachinko, while Weike was responsible for developing the hardware.

According to a filing that Dynam made to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, BMM Testlabs confirmed last week that the new video slot machine conforms with compliance standards, and an application for approval of the machine is now being made to Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.

If that approval is granted, the machine may be sold to casinos in Macau.

GGRASIA “Dynam and Weike pachinko theme slot certified for Macau”

A casino slot game product containing “pachinko elements” and using software from Dynam Japan Holdings Co Ltd, with hardware from Singapore-based casino equipment supplier Weike Gaming Technology (S) Pte Ltd, has been deemed compliant with Macau’s electronic gaming machine technical standards.

That is according to a Thursday filing from Dynam Japan to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

It said gaming equipment testing service BMM International LLC, a group known as BMM Testlabs, had on March 28 issued a notice of compliance with the Macau technical standards. The standards – now in version 1.1 – are issued by the local casino regulator, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, a body also known as DICJ.

Dynam Japan said in its filing: “Upon obtaining the approval of the machine by DICJ, the machine will be manufactured and sold to casino facilities in Macau.”

Under what Dynam Japan described as a “joint development agreement”, the Japanese company would be responsible for planning and developing the gaming software “incorporating game elements of pachinko supported by Japanese users for many years”.

Weike would be responsible for developing the “hardware, implementing the above gaming software thereon, making submission of applications to BMM Testlabs and DICJ, manufacturing the approved machines and selling them to casino facilities in Macau,” stated the filing.

It added: “Through the partnership with Weike, the company will be committed to spreading video slot machines incorporating pachinko game elements to the mass market, and letting more casino users know the attractiveness of pachinko as daily entertainment.”

Dynam Japan runs pachinko parlours in Japan, but has also expressed ambitions to be involved in casino resort business in its home market, following the national government’s move to liberalise such trade.

Electronic casino games specialist Weike Gaming Technology (S) Pte Ltd is among nine companies newly approved for membership of the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM).

The nine newcomers take AGEM’s membership tally to 166 businesses, according to a Thursday press release.

Weike Gaming was established in 1998. Its products are available in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, Macau and Laos, according to the firm’s website. It is based in Singapore.

The firm – an early promoter of automated casino electronic table games as a way for operators to manage running costs – announced earlier this year its first large-scale virtual product in the category.

Another new member of AGEM is Canada-based Nanoptix Inc. In November last year, the firm reached a partnership with casino cash handling and transaction technology specialist SuzoHapp Group, involving the global distribution of all the printer products of Nanoptix.

Weike launches first large-scale virtual ETG product

Electronic casino games specialist Weike Gaming Technology (S) Pte Ltd – an early promoter of automated casino electronic table games (ETGs) as a way for operators to manage running costs – is staying true to its roots by launching on Tuesday the firm’s first large-scale virtual product in the category.

Virtual Multi-Game is configured to accommodate as many as 100 player terminals in a single installation. Game decisions – from either the roulette wheel, sic bo plate or baccarat table – are displayed in virtual form to the players.

“It is a pure electronic product that comes with roulette, sic bo and also baccarat. This is our first big-scale ETG product,” Daven Tay (pictured), Weike’s executive director, told GGRAsia on the first day of Global Gaming Exp (G2E) Asia 2018 at the Venetian Macao.

Mr Tay said of the product: “We are targeting launch in Macau in the fourth quarter. In Singapore, we are targeting the second quarter of next year.”

The Weike executive added: “Virtual is the future and most cost effective… to cut down need for live dealers.”

He further noted: “With a pure electronic game you can trace all the processes… The game results, they can be easily audited. Weike has always promoted electronic and virtual.”

Weike also has a fully-automated single-table METG product. METG stands for “Multi-Player Electronic Table Game”. While it looks at first glance like a standard live-game table, the fully-automated version offers features including patented “card peeping” technology, to mimic the way baccarat players in Asia like to preview part of their hand. It also has a bills-in port for buy-in at the table.

Vietnam clubs market

There is also a “METG Real Cards Virtual Chips” product that can accommodate an attendant dealing real cards and virtual chips. The product range is based on a modular design to facilitate maintenance.

“Almost every club operator in Vietnam has our METG product,” said Mr Tay.

Mr Tay explained that in Vietnam many operators have conditions attached to their licence that may limit the amount of game inventory they can have.

‘Also, the product covers only a small footprint on floor, so can be easily accommodated,” he added.

Also at this year’s show, Weike’s slot offering has a focus on standalone product – but that all can be linked to a mystery jackpot. There are five game titles offered via the firm’s Emperor cabinet. They are: “Dolphin Royale”, “Pirates Gold”, “Rooster of Fortune”, “Fortune Buddies” and “Bags of Blessing”. Weike is also displaying at G2E Asia 2018 a continuation of its progressive-play style, “Super Monkey King” slot product range. This year it is launching five game titles: “Princess Musketeers”, “Party Fiesta”, “Fruits Immortal”, “Fortuna Five” and “Prince Nezha”.

Weike is also at G2E Asia 2018 launching a new slot floor management system called “TAPP System”, in collaboration with another company.

“The design is based on the workflow of the slot floor,” stated Mr Tay.

“It’s an even more user-friendly way of managing a slot floor. It’s a very different approach from what is used in most of the market. It gives control to the floor staff as to how they want to manage things,” he explained.
